Privacy Policy

Last updated June 30, 2026

Doc Nearby (“Doc Nearby,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Because we help you access doctors, lab tests, and medicines, some of the information we handle is sensitive health information, and we treat it with the highest level of care.

1. Who we are

Doc Nearby is a healthcare platform that connects patients with verified doctors for video consultations and clinic appointments, arranges home test collection, and facilitates medicine delivery. This policy applies to everyone who uses the Services, including patients, caregivers managing an account on someone’s behalf, and visitors to our website.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the Services, and information from trusted partners. This includes:

  • Account information — your name, mobile number, email address, password, date of birth, and gender.
  • Profile and health information — symptoms, medical history, allergies, prescriptions, lab reports, diagnoses, and other details you or your provider add to support your care.
  • Appointment and transaction data — bookings, consultation notes shared with you, test orders, medicine orders, and delivery addresses.
  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment partners; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location, and how you interact with the Services.
  • Communications — messages with doctors, support requests, and feedback you send us.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services — schedule appointments, enable consultations, fulfil test and medicine orders, and process payments.
  • Connect you with the right doctors, labs, and pharmacies for your care.
  • Send service communications such as appointment reminders, OTPs, order updates, and important notices.
  • Improve, personalise, and secure the Services, and develop new features.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation obligations.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to deliver your care or as required by law. We do not sell your personal or health information.

  • With healthcare providers — doctors, clinics, diagnostic labs, and pharmacies involved in your treatment.
  • With service providers — vendors who help us with hosting, payments, delivery logistics, SMS/notifications, and analytics, under strict confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons — when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
  • In a business transfer — as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with continued protection of your information.
  • With your consent — whenever you ask us to share information with a third party.

5. Health data and confidentiality

Your health information is confidential. Access is limited to the providers involved in your care and to authorised personnel who need it to operate the Services. We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect health information consistent with applicable healthcare privacy standards.

Consultation records and reports are made available to you within the app and are not used for advertising. We will never disclose your health information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

6. Data retention and account deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, meet legal and medical record-keeping requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You can request deletion of your account at any time from the Delete Account page. When you request deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days of inactivity. If you sign in again within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled and your account is restored. After the 30-day window, your personal data is permanently deleted, except records we are legally required to retain.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

8. How we protect your information

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security reviews, and least-privilege practices to protect your information. While no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, we work continuously to safeguard your data and to respond quickly to any incident.

9. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults. A parent or legal guardian may manage care for a minor through their own account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Cookies and tracking

On our website we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact our privacy team at privacy@docnearby.com. We will respond to your request as soon as we reasonably can.

Want to remove your data? You can request account deletion at any time from the Delete Account page.
